AMES CENTER/VENUWORKS OF BURNSVILLE, LLC. JOB INFORMATION SummaryThe Event Manager is an event centric position that shall coordinate, communicate, and manage multiple tasks and events. Supervise patron services and contracted services while providing great attention to detail maintaining high standards of customer service for all facility users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Serves as primary point of contact for client upon contract execution through the end of event.
- Provides event management leadership across all departments, maintaining strong organizational and communication systems.
- Ensures event management systems are customer centric and efficiently executed both with client and the internal team.
- Assembles accurate event invoices and event information between facility and client.
- Provides accurate post-event information to assist with event close-out processes.
- Review and implement policies and procedures for Event Services and make recommendations to Director of Sales and Events for modifications as may become appropriate.
- Serve as Manager on Duty for events as scheduled which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Directly manages FOH staff, including; hiring, training, coaching and scheduling of all event services staff.
- Reviews and approves payroll of applicable staff at the end of each pay period, prior to final submission.
- Ensure all departments are provided with event information in a timely fashion and during events make certain all departments and staff are functioning as needed for event success.
- Gathers appropriate information from the client including event type, budgeting, space needs, equipment, technical requirements, event timeline, insurance certificates, catering menus and staffing requirements, confirming event setups and provided services are accurate, meeting client’s expectations for all events.
- Assure all event set‑ups are in accordance with safety, fire and health code procedures.
- Collaborates with the development and coordination of food and beverage functions with the food and beverage department as it pertains to clients’ needs and expectations.
- Monitor event schedules for upcoming events to ensure equipment inventory availability.
- Assemble useable post event information to share with staff and clients as warranted.
- Coordinates the use of contract security, sworn security and contract first aid services as needed.
- Must work well and have high standards of communication with all team members.
- Oversee facility compliance with ADA requirements, making appropriate recommendations for services and accommodations
- Attendance during regularly scheduled hours, position will include nights and weekends.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Directly supervises event services staff and volunteers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees and volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Skilled at maintaining accurate event documentation, invoices, payroll, scheduling, and post-event reporting
- Knowledge of procedures and requirements of the entertainment business to ensure good relationships with promoters and performers.
