Overview

A Cerner RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining these critical systems in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities
  • System Management:
    Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of RIS and PACS systems, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Data Management:
    Handle data archiving, storage, and retrieval, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Good understanding of HL7 and preferably FHIR. Prior knowledge of PDF image linking with HL7.
  • User Support:
    Provide support and training to healthcare staff on using RIS and PACS systems effectively. Coordinate with the Integration Analyst to pass on system requirements for RAD and PACS workflow.
  • System Integration:
    Manage the integration of RIS and PACS with other hospital information systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise. Thorough understanding of Cerner Radnet Module. Basic understanding of Cerner Power chart and HL7 data flow.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Ensure the accuracy and quality of imaging data and reports.
  • System Upgrades:
    Perform regular system upgrades and apply updates to maintain optimal performance.
Qualifications
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Experience in Clinical Cerner tools such as Cerner Radnet, Cerner Power chart, basic FSI tools.
  • Education and Experience:

    A bachelor's degree in computer science, life sciences, or a related field. Typically, 2-4 years of experience in a similar role. Experience with RIS and PACS systems, preferably in a healthcare setup.
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data management, and excellent communication abilities.
