Your roleAs a (Senior) Association Manager, you will be responsible for the effective (day-to-day) management, continued development and long-term success of a portfolio of professional medical and healthcare associations.
You will serve as a trusted partner to volunteer leaders, Boards of Directors, committees, members, sponsors, and other stakeholders. You will help translate strategic priorities into practical plans, coordinate the work of internal team members and specialists, and ensure that organizational activities remain aligned, well managed, and moving forward.
The role combines client relationship management, governance support, strategic coordination, financial oversight, project management, and operational leadership. It requires someone who can see the bigger picture while also ensuring that important details, decisions, and commitments are followed through.
What you’ll do Leadership & Client Management- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned client organizations.
- Build trusted relationships with association leaders, Board members, committees, members, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Develop a strong understanding of each client’s mission, priorities, governance structure, and operating environment.
- Advise volunteer leaders on organizational management, governance, operational best practices, and implementation.
- Translate strategic goals and Board decisions into clear plans, responsibilities, timelines, and next steps.
- Coordinate internal Status Plus teams and external providers to ensure effective, consistent, and timely service delivery.
- Coordinate and monitor organizational priorities, commitments, risks, and progress throughout the year.
- Develop and improve work plans, annual calendars, procedures, and internal processes.
- Ensure decisions, responsibilities, and follow-up actions are clearly documented and completed.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen client organizations, improve services, and create additional value.
- Plan and support Board, Executive Committee, committee, and membership meetings.
- Develop agendas, briefing materials, presentations, minutes, and follow-up documentation.
- Maintain governing documents, policies, resolutions, and corporate records.
- Support compliance with bylaws, policies, nonprofit regulations, and organizational procedures.
- Help establish effective decision-making, accountability, and follow-up processes.
- Support leadership elections, appointments, and transitions.
- Support development of annual operating budgets and monitor performance throughout the year.
- Review financial reports, identify variances/risks, and support informed decision-making.
- Coordinate financial planning, audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements with internal teams and accounting firms.
- Monitor the financial implications of programs, projects, contracts, and organizational decisions.
- Manage and support committees, awards, grants, scholarships, educational initiatives, and special projects.
- Coordinate annual planning calendars, strategic priorities and project timelines.
- Develop project plans, timelines, responsibilities, and reporting structures for organizational initiatives.
- Work with subject-matter specialists, members, and external partners to develop, implement and deliver new programs and organizational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, and member experience.
