Our client is seeking a creative and driven Mechanical Designer to join their growing team. This position is centered on innovation, ownership, and full-cycle product development. You will take new products from concept through production, developing practical, manufacturable solutions while collaborating directly with customers and cross-functional teams.

Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Location: Burnsville, MN
Salary: 70-76k
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design efforts for new product development from concept through production release
- Create detailed 3D models and production drawings using Solid Works
- Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies
- Apply DFX (Design for Excellence/Manufacturability) principles to ensure cost-effective and efficient production
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes including sheet metal, castings, injection molding, extrusion, machining, paint & powder coating, PCBA, and assembly
- Develop prototypes using traditional and additive manufacturing methods
- Interface directly with customers to clarify requirements, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback
- Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure successful product launches
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Associate of Science degree in Drafting, Product Design, Engineering Technology, or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong Solid Works proficiency
- Hands‑on experience with sheet metal design
- Experience supporting new product development from concept to completion
- Knowledge of DFX principles for precision manufacturing materials and processes
- Working knowledge of additive manufacturing
- Direct customer interaction and design ownership
