Conformal Coating & Soldering Technician – Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Conformal Coating & Soldering Technician to apply protective coatings to printed circuit boards (PCBs), perform precision soldering, and support electronic assembly processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, steady hands, and experience working with masking, coating materials, soldering tools, and inspection methods.
Responsibilities- Apply conformal coatings to PCBs using spray, dip, or selective-coating equipment
- Mask components to protect connectors, keep-outs, and sensitive areas
- Inspect coated boards for coverage, thickness, bubbles, and defects
- Operate UV inspection equipment to verify coating quality
- Perform coating touch-up, rework, and removal when needed
- Maintain clean equipment and a contamination-free workspace
- Perform hand soldering of through-hole and SMT components
- Use soldering irons, hot-air tools, and rework stations for assembly or repair
- Inspect solder joints to IPC standards (IPC-A-610 preferred)
- Assist with PCB assembly, wire prep, and harness soldering as needed
- Follow work instructions, drawings, and coating/soldering specifications
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with conformal coating processes (manual or automated)
- Ability to read work instructions, PCB drawings, and assembly documentation
- Strong attention to detail and steady hand coordination
- Familiarity with UV inspection and masking materials
- Proficiency in soldering (SMT and/or through-hole)
- Ability to identify solder defects such as bridges, cold joints, and insufficient wetting
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or PCB assembly preferred
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 or similar quality standards is a plus

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnsville, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
