Fairview Health Services is seeking compassionate and driven Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our dynamic Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Fairview Ridges Hospital, located in Burnsville, Minnesota—just 20 minutes south of downtown Minneapolis near the intersection of I-35E and I-35W.

Schedule:
This position will work 60 hours per pay period, nights, 12 hour shifts with every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

About the NICU Unit:

• Unit Size:
  Up to 23 beds
• Patient Population:
  High-risk and premature newborns, including those born as early as 28 weeks gestation
• Role of the RN:
  • Provide advanced, family-centered neonatal care
  • Monitor and manage complex conditions in premature and critically ill infants
  • Attends deliveries, providing stabilization and support during the transitional phase of a newborn. Transports newborns to Special Care Nursery and admits newborns requiring specialized nursing care and close observation.
  • Provides care for newborns and premature infants, requiring specialized nursing care and close observation. Performs and/or assists with procedures.
  • Provides Parent & Family Education and emotional support
  • Uses Epic and Pyxis system

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

• Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
• Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
• Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
• Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care.
• Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
• Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP).

• MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
• 1-2 years RN NICU experience
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months post hire onto the unit.

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• 1 year experience
