DaVita is hiring a FLOAT Registered Nurse in Burnsville, MN
Dialysis experience not required. We will train you!
After training is complete and you feel comfortable in the role, this RN position will float to our other outpatient clinics in the greater Burnsville, MN area, within a 20‑30 minute radius of your home clinic.
$2.75 float shift differential for travel while in the float pool.
Schedule:
Work 3‑4 days/week, 10‑12 hours/day (every other Saturday, closed on Sundays).
Extensive training:
First 9‑12 weeks of employment, group and 1:1 hands‑on training. Training may take place in a facility other than your assigned home clinic.

- You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday.
- 30%:
Supervises and performs direct patient care including taking and monitoring vital signs, initiating and terminating dialysis, documentation, performing physical assessment of patients and patient treatments, taking and transcribing physician's orders, drawing and documenting ordered laboratory work. - 20%:
Provides dialysis therapy, including formulating dialysis plan per physician orders, weight and rate of ultrafiltration, verifying safety measures, administering medications, discontinuing dialysis per established procedure, documenting all activity appropriately. - 20%:
Analyzes patient assessments and laboratory data and brings concerns to the physician. Notes signs of trauma, patients’ general physical and mental condition, reviews dialysis orders, documents observations in patient medical records, communicates emergencies to supervisor, Medical Director, Regional Operations Director, Facility or Group Facility Administrator. - 15%:
Assesses patient and family learning readiness and provides information on renal disease, prescribed dialysis treatment, and medical regimen. Participates in development and implementation of patient’s short‑ and long‑term plan of care and monthly progress note.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) acceptable; a three‑year diploma from an accredited diploma program may be substituted for a nursing degree. - Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) is helpful but not required.
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) is helpful.
Wage range: $37.00–$52.00 per hour.
