Position: Seasonal Maintenance I Parks

Overview

As a Seasonal Maintenance I worker in our Parks department, you’ll assist with various park maintenance tasks and safely operate city vehicles and equipment.

Our Public Works Department is a dedicated team of talented individuals who work together to make normal happen for those who work, live, and play in Burnsville. Your efforts will help keep our city running smoothly and efficiently, making essential contributions to operation and maintenance of our infrastructure.

This non-exempt (hourly) position offers a starting wage of $15.05 - $17.95 per hour, depending on qualifications. Flexible scheduling is available with full-time or part-time hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m.

    - 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday: 6:30 a.m.

    - 10:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

The Seasonal Maintenance I - Parks worker values people and perspectives by:

  • Helping maintain City parks for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
  • Performing maintenance on athletic fields, beaches, playgrounds, and picnic areas.

They are on the leading edge when they:

  • Assisting with mowing, turf maintenance, and weed trimming.
  • Supporting landscaping, park development, and special projects.

And they expect the best by:

  • Safely operating City vehicles and equipment, including mowers, pickup trucks, and power tools.
  • Assisting staff with various park maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 17 years of age or older.
  • Possess a valid Class D Driver’s License or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Have a background or interest in local government work and serving the community.
  • Demonstrate a desire to develop your strengths while valuing the unique perspectives of your colleagues.
