Manager, Quality Inspection oversees a team of 60 hourly employees, with aid of 2 supervisors. This individual will be responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and completed products to verify conformance with engineering and regulatory requirements. This role establishes departmental objectives, provides strategic direction, and drives continuous improvements to inspection processes and systems.

Discipline Overview:

Inspects products using predetermined methods, established operations, and prescribed specifications. Employs various measurement tools, testing equipment, and statistical techniques. Performs in-process and final inspections, First Article Inspections (FAI), conformity inspections, and initiates non-conformance notifications as required.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Manages a team of professionals with autonomy in determining work approaches. Sets performance objectives, provides guidance on execution strategies, and addresses complex challenges involving multiple variables. Communicates policies and influences stakeholders as needed.

Role Purpose

Leads a team of Quality Inspection professionals, ensuring adherence to departmental, organizational, and customer specifications. Oversees development of inspection plans, maintenance of logs, and preparation of technical reports and presentations.

What You Will Do:
  • Directs inspection activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Develops inspection plans, balances inspector workloads, and oversees documentation of inspection results.
  • Determines inspection methods to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides feedback on quality issues, monitors corrective actions, and coaches team members to support skill development and organizational needs.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • University Degree, or equivalent experience, and minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Minimum two years in a quality or operations leadership role.
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection.
  • Aerospace inspection experience and GD&T proficiency.
  • Use of vision and contact based measuring systems and related software (PC-DMIS)
  • Working knowledge of nondestructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Continuous improvement certification (CORE, Lean, Six Sigma, Red X).
  • Analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management in a fast-paced organization.
