Abria Detox is a private facility offering 24/7 detoxification and withdrawal management services. We specialize in treating individuals who have substance use as well as co-occurring mental health disorders. Our facility has 20 beds and serves both male and female patients aged 18 and older.
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Recovery Support & Activities Specialist to join our team. This position helps create a welcoming, supportive, and structured environment while keeping clients engaged through recreational, social, and recovery-focused activities.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, healthcare, human services, or a similar setting preferred.
- Ability to plan and facilitate engaging recreational and social activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of recovery.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
- Dependable, patient, energetic, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be free of chemical use problems for at least two years immediately preceding hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that
- Plan and facilitate recreational activities, games, crafts, and other structured activities.
- Encourage clients to participate and remain engaged throughout their stay.
- Organize activities appropriate for clients experiencing withdrawal and varying levels of physical ability.
- Spend time interacting with clients and promoting positive social engagement.
- Maintain activity supplies, games, and recreational materials.
- Assist with creating a structured and supportive daily environment.
- Observe client behavior and communicate concerns to nursing or clinical staff.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
- Assist behavioral health staff with general client support as needed.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment.
