About This RoleConsertus is looking for a Technician II for our Central Transportation group. You will assist field engineering staff to achieve quality construction in accordance with the plans and specifications. Tech II’s perform field inspection duties with capability of handling large projects of moderate complexity.
Key Responsibilities Quality Management- Observes and inspects construction activities.
- Reviews contracts, plans, and specifications.
- Reviews test results and advises RE of any deficiencies.
- Regularly communicates with RE to provide updates on all project-related issues.
- Coordinates inspection activities with sub-consultants and testing agencies.
- Oversees work of subordinate or less experienced field staff.
- Prepares field measurements and quantity calculations.
- Prepares daily reports and other project documentation.
- Reviews and processes project correspondence.
- Assists in project closeout both internally and externally.
- Some college or technical training preferred.
- Typically requires 5 years of inspection experience with some technical training or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Previous watermain experience is required.
- Experienced in documentation of contract line items for inspector daily reports.
- Ability to train and mentor field staff.
- Ability to use a computer, the Internet, and word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
Compensation range: $75,000-$100,000 annually
