Production Leader - Pitman Nights at Mars
Join us as a front‑line operations people leader who efficiently improves Quality, Human Safety, and Product Cost Conversion while engaging and developing talent.
Responsibilities- Manage the efforts of operating teams of a multi‑line, area or technology on one shift in the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary manner within the product design specifications.
- Implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization to assure that line/area objectives are met, providing input and recommendations using a continuous improvement mindset.
- Lead or participate in one or more MSE Pillars; support the implementation of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Autonomous Work Teams (AWTs) in the area of responsibility; own reliability data collection accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Area Leadership Team to create and execute the reliability strategy for the area.
- Coach operators to build functional and leadership capabilities and to drive accountability in safety, quality and food safety, autonomous maintenance, and team engagement.
- Coordinate materials, staffing and resources to support line operation and changeovers.
- Ensure standards are implemented on shift and in the area of responsibility through effective communication, change management, consistent reinforcement, coaching, guidance and accountability.
- Ensure safe working conditions and behaviors through the implementation of Mars Safety programs.
- Ensure ongoing production of safe and defect‑free products consistent with Mars principles; own training and champion quality goals at the area shift level.
- Manage associate relations issues and guide hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of operations associates.
- Facilitate and drive an environment of high associate engagement.
- With guidance from the Value Stream or Area Manager, establish line and individual performance standards, measure, control, take corrective action and report results.
- Utilize technical resources on shift for preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of equipment problems to achieve desired performance levels.
- Proactively identify risks, opportunities and lead on‑shift incident resolution; prioritize, assign resources and make decisions to resolve escalated issues.
- Ensure open communications and broaden scope and responsibility of operations teams and associates.
- Advise on opportunities for technological advancement of the line/area.
- Participate in implementation of improvement strategies that help the line/area perform more effectively.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit and onboard associates for operations roles.
- Develop associates by mentoring and supporting their development plans and long‑term career growth.
Education & Professional Qualification
- The equivalent experience, defined as greater than 4 years of experience in a technical manufacturing continuous improvement environment, along with a High School Diploma.
Preferred:
- A degree in Engineering, basic sciences, or business‑related disciplines.
Knowledge/Experience
- Experience and demonstrated capability in leading others.
- Previous direct people leadership experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Understanding of major plant functions and ability to work at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), internet software, e‑mail.
- Ability to succeed in an ambiguous environment.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of HACCP concepts.
- Experience in plant sanitation practices and procedures.
- Ability to deliver critical performance feedback and hold associates accountable to business objectives.
- Champion of safety with OSHA experience or certification preferred.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is USD 81,946.00 – USD . The total compensation package will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, 401(k) participation, and paid time off.
