The Burrillville School Department is seeking a certified School Psychologist (RIDE certification) for the  school year. The role will support students academically, socially, and emotionally. The psychologist will collaborate with educators, parents and professionals to create safe, healthy learning environments that strengthen connections between home and school.

• Data-Based Decision Making and Accountability – Analyze social, emotional, behavioral, and psychological assessment data to identify student strengths and needs and develop effective services and programs.
• Consultation and Collaboration – Consult and collaborate with colleagues, students, families and other professionals to promote effective implementation of services.
• Interventions and Instructional Support to Develop Academic Skills – Provide guidance regarding biological, cultural, and social influences on academic skills/learning, cognitive and developmental processes, and evidence-based curricula and instructional strategies.
• Interventions and Mental Health Services to Develop Social and Life Skills – Conduct individual and group counseling services with students, focusing on evidence-based strategies to promote social–emotional functioning and mental health.
• School-Wide Practices to Promote Learning – Promote school-wide learning and mental health through systems including response to intervention and positive behavioral interventions and supports.
• Preventive and Responsive Services – Support multi-tiered prevention and crisis response strategies.
• Family–School Collaboration Services – Collaborate with families to enhance children’s learning and mental health, including providing referrals for outside resources.
• Diversity in Development and Learning – Enhance services and address potential influences related to diversity, using knowledge of individual differences, abilities, disabilities, and other diverse student characteristics.
• Research and Program Evaluation – Understand research and interpret data in applied settings with knowledge of research design, statistics, measurement, varied data collection and analysis techniques, and program evaluation.
• Legal, Ethical, and Professional Practice – Practice in accordance with ethical, legal, and professional standards.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Building Principal/PPS Director.

• Rhode Island certification as a School Psychologist.
• Conceptual, interpersonal, and social skills necessary for position performance.
• Demonstrated commitment to the implementation of high standards for all students.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff.
• Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with parents in the support of students.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development to keep knowledge and skills current.

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
