Technical Trainer - CNC Machining
Insight Global is seeking a Technical Trainer - CNC to support a leading automotive manufacturing client. This individual will play a critical role in developing and delivering hands-on training programs for machining operators across multiple production tiers. The role will begin with immersive learning of machining processes-including a potential focus on crankshaft production-before transitioning into instructing operators on best practices, tooling, and blueprint interpretation.
The ideal candidate has a strong machining background and a passion for teaching, with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts in a fast-paced shop floor environment. This is a highly interactive role that directly impacts operational efficiency and workforce development.
Location:
Flint, MI
Duration: 1-year contract (possible extensions/direct hire)
Pay Rate: $45-50/hr+
Must-Haves:
- Strong understanding of metal removal processes
- Background in machining/CNC operations
- Ability to effectively communicate and connect with shop floor operators
- Familiarity with tooling and cutting tools
- Need to have experience leading/training/teaching people
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Day-to-Day:
- Organize training materials and coordinate training schedules
- Learn production processes across 4 training tiers
- Spend initial weeks learning each tier's machining processes and instructions
- Deliver hands-on operator training following each learning phase
- Support rollout of training programs:
- 3-6 weeks learning + 1 month training operators
- Potential focus on crankshaft machining operations during first 8-10 weeks
- Collaborate with shop floor teams, engineers, and leadership
- Provide feedback to improve training content and delivery methods
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
