Packaging Engineer
The packaging engineer plays a crucial role in designing and releasing packaging material specifications. This position involves improving packaging designs and material specifications through detailed research and testing.
Responsibilities- Perform projects aimed at reducing packaging material processing, distribution, and damage costs.
- Resolve complex product and packaging issues.
- Develop and apply graphic design elements to products.
- Identify standards for packaging materials.
- Coordinate packaging requirements with plants, other departments, sources, and customers.
- Stay current on new technology and developments in the industry.
- Apply high-quality network and synchronous organization strategies to achieve process improvements and promote teamwork.
- Expert knowledge of testing design and packaging processes.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Lotus Notes or other email communication tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Capability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in creating blueprints and technical drawings.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Packaging or a related technical area.
- 5-7 years of experience in packaging engineering.
The work environment involves collaborating with various departments and teams to meet packaging requirements. The role requires staying updated on technological advancements and applying innovative strategies to improve packaging processes. Professional attire is expected.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Burton, MI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr.
