Under general supervision the technician is responsible for the assembly and repackaging of inflatable products in accordance to the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) specifications and written procedures.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection, and testing procedures
- Accept units to be maintained from the receiving inspection process and ensure all items are accounted for and the assembly is ready for packing
- Perform manual lifting, pulling, pushing, and tugging to repackage articles and use proper tooling to repackage inflatables in accordance with OEM/CMM and/or approved data
- Insert units into oven when necessary and work with inspector to provide continuity in the packing process
- Ensure all parts and components are in airworthy condition prior to packing
- Measure dimensions and/or use templates to verify specified dimensions or settings meet OEM guidelines
- Confirm all packing aids are accounted for
- Complete applicable documents and forms
- Carry out duties in accordance with QCM/RSM written specifications and procedures
- Apply relevant Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins when applicable
- Maintain a working area in an organized and neat condition, observe and follow all safety rules and policies
- Maintain an acceptable level of productivity and provide team member support
- Previous inflatable packing experience (e.g., parachute, marine raft, etc.)
- Good hand‑eye coordination, able to read a tape measure and basic math skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and read, write & understand English
- Eye for detail
- Trained in accordance with OJT requirement, ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals
Frequent standing, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing/pulling, kneeling, walking, and intermittent sitting. Frequent use of hands to handle, grasp, squeeze, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Must see and hear within normal range, with or without correction. Constant bending, twisting, kneeling; lift and carry up to 50 lbs with assistance.
