The YMCA Youth & Family Services is looking for a self‑motivated and dynamic professional to join the Y family. This work involves identification of issues and conditions in each case, assessment of those issues and conditions, and selection of a course of action from many alternatives. You will become part of a high‑functioning team that will help you learn skills throughout your career.

You will make a difference everyday keeping children safe!

The Youth Development Specialist provides trauma‑informed, culturally relevant, in‑person youth development services to sixty‑five (65) youth per year per school, designed to promote protective factors and strengthen resilience. Provides general client services and case management in a Montgomery County Public School.

• Provide youth development activities which may include sports, arts, outdoor recreation, gardening, community service projects, mentoring, and other activities that give purpose and encourage self‑care, healing, and provide mutual peer support.
• Attend county‑indicated trainings for youth development practitioners.

• Experience working with youth and parents from diverse populations.
• Experience working with the school system (preferred).
