Confined Space - Rescue Techs & Entry Watch - Skilled & Semi Skilled

Fulcrum Engineering & Technical are acting as an Employment Business on behalf of our clients.

We are recruiting personnel at all levels:
Semi Skilled, Mates, Ops & Skilled Trades & Techs. Covering similar work & roles such as Confined Space Rescue Techs & Ops, Mechanical – Pipe Fitting roles or Fabrication roles depending on applicants’ skill sets & experience. Workers must have Confined Space Medium Risk or High Risk Certs, or Rescue Techs & Ops Cert.

Confined Space Rescue Techs & Ops work on setting up work areas to meet safety specs & permit-to-work controls. They ensure Hole Entry Recording is completed correctly & Rescue Procedures are set up in case of emergency. They are also required for work on vessels, tanks, silos & boilers. When not working on confined spaces, they assist with general mechanical & pipe‑fitting work as required.

Semi Skilled / Mates Mechanical – Pipe Fitters work on fitting pipe spools, supports, valves, pumps & process machinery components. They also cut out old sheet/plate in vessels, tanks & silos with plasma & grinders. Additional duties include assisting with erection & fitting work as required and rotating to cover Hole Entry Safety work or Fire Watching.

Coded Spec Pipe & Plate Welders will weld pipework & plates & vessels, tanks & silos internal sheet & plate. They weld to coded specs with TIG or MIG FCAW or MMA and provide welding frames, supports & brackets as required.

Plater Welders & Fabricator Welders will be more involved with cutting out old sheet/plate with plasma & grinders, fabrication work, and higher‑spec welding with MIG, ideally able to weld MG FCAW, MMA & TIG.

• Must have Confined Space Work skills & experience on vessels, tanks, silos, boilers.
• Have good all‑round skills/experience assisting with pipe‑fitting & mechanical fitting, or capable of fabrication & welding work.

• Confined Space Cert:
  Medium Risk or High Risk, or Rescue Techs & Ops Cert.
• Ideally Fire Watching & First Aid at Work & Abrasive Wheels Certs.
• Ideally at least part qualified or skills/experience within C & G or NVQ Welding Fabrication or Plating or Sheet Metalwork or Pipe – Mechanical Fitting.
• Ideally CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport.

Hours:

07:00 – 17:00 + 47.50 to 57.5 hours Mon‑Fri. Pos work 06:00 – 17:00 or 07:00 – 18:00 as required. Also 06:00 or 07:00 to 13:30 Sat as required.

Term:
Temp 4 to 8 weeks with a good chance of longer term role of 12 to 18 weeks subject to attendance, time‑keeping, suitability for the type of work and workload.

Pay (Temp):
Skilled Techs £27+ per hour;
Semi‑Skilled £22+ & Mates/Ops £20+ per hour basic up to 60 hrs Mon‑Fri. Plus extra £5+ per hour on Sat via Payment Company on CIS or PAYE Basis depending on skills/quals.
