Varies Minimum 4 shifts per 4 week schedule (32 hours)
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse Preceptor,
the
Nurse Extern's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, utilization of the nursing process in the provision of care, communicating with all members of the health care team to assure patient goals are being met and coordinated, providing excellent customer service while supporting the patients and families physical and emotional health.
Education
Minimum:
Currently enrolled in a Registered Nurse Program approved by a State Board of Nursing:
BSN Program. A student must be entering their senior year and have completed at least the medical/surgical clinical component of his/her educational experience.
Diploma/Associate Program - A student entering their final year of nursing school.
Must present proof of continued enrollment and passing grade in nursing classes each semester until graduation andis in good academic standing.

Other Requirements
:
Responsible to safely access, transport, and handle single dose medications to include prescription and non-prescription medications.
