Laborer
Harsco Environmental is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Laborer to support daily operations at our industrial plant site. This position starts at $23.19 per hour and is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, assisting with material handling activities, operating off-road haul trucks and other mobile equipment, and performing general labor duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork in a heavy industrial environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining plant grounds, roadways, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition; performing housekeeping activities, including sweeping, shoveling, debris removal, and general site cleanup; operating off-road haul trucks and other mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner; assisting with loading, transporting, and dumping materials throughout the facility; performing basic equipment inspections and reporting maintenance or safety concerns;
operating backhoe equipment as assigned and qualified; following traffic patterns, site rules, and all safety procedures while operating equipment; assisting operators, mechanics, and other team members with operational and maintenance activities; supporting environmental compliance initiatives by maintaining clean work areas and controlling spills or waste as directed; performing manual labor in varying weather conditions and industrial environments; completing all required safety training and participating in safety meetings;
and performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED preferred, ability to pass background check and drug screen, ability to work safely in a heavy industrial environment, ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods, valid driver's license, strong work ethic and dependable attendance, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred qualifications include experience operating off-road haul trucks, loaders, backhoes, or other heavy equipment, previous experience in industrial, construction, mining, steel mill, or environmental services operations, and basic understanding of equipment inspections and preventive maintenance practices.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks, and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and other required gear.
