Position: Caseworker (Parent Development Specialist)

Caseworker (Parent Development Specialist)

The Caseworker (Parent Development Specialist) is part of our Family Support Services team. This team provides a wide array of family support services to help families and children grow stronger, from prevention and reunification services to care coordination services. All of our programs are built around the idea of permanency — supporting safe, nurturing, and lasting families — and putting the health and safety of the child first.

This position independently develops and implements service plans that promote safety, well-being, and permanency for all assigned clients.

The Caseworker (Parent Development Specialist) will assess and develop parenting skills while adhering to evidence-based programming. This is a community-based role with explicit requirements to be on-site for specified activities at the discretion of program leadership. Other job responsibilities include:

  • Complete assessment of families using the Standard Teen Triple P evidence-based curriculum
  • Develop and implement service plans with assigned clients that reflect individual needs related to parenting skills and relationship building strategies with teens
  • Provide formal and informal community resources to clients as indicated
  • Transport clients to appointments as needed
  • Complete all required programming documentation within electronic health record systems with accuracy and timeliness related to county contractual requirements
  • Participate in any county requested activities including meetings and legal proceedings
  • Adhere to CPSL protocols related to mandated reporter responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related Human Service field required.
  • Minimum of one year experience working Child Welfare
  • Valid, current driver's license and personal automobile liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit coverage
  • Approval to verify driving history at the time of authorization and annually; approval to verify insurance coverage at the time of authorization and semi-annually
  • Reliable automobile with current inspection
  • Clearances

    Required:

    Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, and Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
