Job Overview

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, including account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all financial data aligns with bank statements and internal records.
- Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely and correct salary disbursements while adhering to relevant regulations.
- Utilize financial software such as Quick Books, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms to record transactions, generate reports, and analyze financial data.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other applicable standards.
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial analysis to support organizational planning and decision-making.
- Conduct governmental or non-profit accounting tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with specific regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, with familiarity using accounting software such as Quick Books Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Experience with payroll processing, tax preparation, and government reporting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and report writing.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental or non-profit accounting practices preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform account reconciliation accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic typing skills (10-key) for data entry accuracy; familiarity with financial concepts such as budgeting is a plus.
