Duties and Responsibilities

As part of a dynamic team, you are the face of Valley Bank Organization. You are the front‑line liaison for all customer contact areas and will work closely with other departments. You will assist customers in both the lobby and drive‑up, you will engage in and present solutions to satisfy the complete needs of each customer while processing standard banking transactions.

You will follow through with customer requests and refer to the appropriate banker for additional needs. You will play an active role in your development/growth within your position by being aware of your performance and requesting support or training as needed.

Processes
  • Responsible for securing cash, coin, and negotiable instruments with accuracy and following set procedures.
  • Accountable for each transaction/request with speed and accuracy while maintaining balance.
  • Print statements and cash savings bonds.
  • Completes fraud/non‑fraud debit card disputes and ATM disputes.
  • Understands and uses currency counter, coin counter, MICR printer, Teller Cash Dispenser, and Teller Cash Recycler when needed.
  • Operates Silverlake, Vertex, Net Teller, and entry level Passport while completing necessary tasks.
  • Administers information on personal and business account types, online banking, bill pay and mobile check deposit.

NOTE:

Only minimum duties listed. Other responsibilities may be required and requested by Management.

About You

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working directly with the public.
  • Basic computer literacy preferred.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
  • Provide high quality customer service by listening actively and responding promptly.
  • Knowledge of Valley Bank products/services to effectively present appropriate solutions to customers.
  • Proficient at using technology to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Demonstrates confidence while using excellent problem‑solving skills to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.

Assigned Work Hours
:
The assigned work hours and locations may vary, including some weekends and non‑traditional holidays.

Work Environment
:
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate‑controlled shared work area with moderate noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6–8 hours per day when necessary. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting ability required: lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50‑pound loads.

Specific vision ability required: close visual acuity to perform tasks such as preparing and analyzing data; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection of small defects or parts; and operating measurement devices at distances.
