Instructors teach 1 to 5 language classes per semester. All positions are pending adequate enrollment and funding.
Position OverviewDepartment of Modern Languages and Literatures maintains an applicant pool for Non‑Tenure Track Instructors in Spanish. Qualified candidates will be contacted when a position opens.
Responsibilities- Teach 1 to 5 language classes per semester.
- Assign tasks contingent on departmental needs and available funding.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a foreign university.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent from a foreign university in Spanish or a closely related field, or relevant knowledge and experience (e.g., superior level proficiency; extensive residence abroad).
- Proficiency level in Spanish appropriate to the position.
- PhD in Spanish or another relevant discipline.
- Superior level proficiency in Spanish.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
Have effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate successfully and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
Union Affiliation / Additional InformationThe position may be a union position. Any position 0.5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU). Positions less than 0.5 FTE are not represented by the union and do not require dues. Exceptions apply for PEI exam completion, Extension faculty, and other specific cases.
