We are currently seeking an energetic person to join our team as a Head Start Teacher Assistant. The successful candidate assists with the instruction of preschool children in activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth, and supports the implementation of School Readiness activities to facilitate a successful transition to kindergarten.

The position will be a member of the Mining City Head Start #1 Local #4419, MEA‑MFT, AFT, AFL‑CIO.

• Assist the classroom teacher in supervising preschool children in activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth, as outlined by the Head Start Performance Standards and Head Start Act.
• Implement School Readiness activities that promote a successful transition to kindergarten.

• Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, or
• Associate Degree in Early Childhood, or
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or
• 1 year of experience and must obtain CDA within 2 years.
