Admissions Representative II
Montana Technological University seeks an organized and energetic Admissions Representative to engage prospective students, families, and organizations; recruiting students to apply and enroll who can benefit from and contribute to our distinct campus community of determined doers.
• Full time position
• Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Montana Tech will lead undergraduate recruitment efforts in an assigned territory to meet the university’s strategic enrollment goals.
- Planning, managing, and evaluating recruitment activities for prospective students within an assigned geographic territory, including high school visits, college fairs, community college visits, and other events.
- Traveling in‑state and out‑of‑state by vehicle and/or air for recruiting events, spending at least four to five weeks per year away from the office, in trips ranging from a few days to a week.
- Implementing professional written and verbal communication to prospective students and families with information about Montana Tech and guiding them through the college application and enrollment process.
- Supporting office operations, including answering phone calls and emails, staffing on‑campus recruitment events, and meeting with prospective students from the assigned territory during campus visits.
- Giving presentations and campus tours to groups of people.
- Collaborating and cultivating relationships with alumni and departments across campus to support student recruitment efforts.
- Evaluating students for admission and making professional recommendations regarding admission.
- Safeguarding confidentiality of student, staff, and University information by exercising discretion and following policies and procedures for the handling of records.
- Performing special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions or Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment.
- Working in a team‑oriented, flexible, and customer‑service oriented manner, fostering strong relationships with campus departments and University partners.
- Working typical hours M‑F, 8:30‑5:00, with a flexible schedule to accommodate seasonal travel and events.
- High School Diploma and Some College
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work a flexible schedule allowing travel
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to learn other software
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working in secondary education or at a college/university
- Demonstrated customer service, sales, or marketing experience
- Experience tailoring communication to varying audiences
- Demonstrated public speaking skills
- Knowledge of Montana Tech’s academic programs and campus resources
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
