Position SummaryThe Project Surveyor will be responsible for conducting surveys, preparing maps and reports, and providing accurate data for engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surveying techniques, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. Must have a valid driver's license.
Essential Functions- Conduct land surveys using various surveying equipment and technology, including GPS, total stations, and levels.
- Prepare and maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and survey reports.
- Analyze survey data to determine the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide accurate survey data for project planning and design.
- Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) and Geospatial software to create detailed maps and plans.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Research legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to address any survey-related issues or concerns.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of surveying equipment, and techniques, including GPS, total stations, levels, and CAD and Geospatial software.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains high levels of accuracy and precision in all aspects of survey work, ensuring reliable and error-free data.

Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred or ability to obtain.
Experience: 5+ years in industry experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with databases.
