Highway Bridge Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects.
• Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff.
• Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance the planning team throughout the entire project’s development.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
• Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work effort to ensure completion within agreed parameters of schedule.
• Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice.
• Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure document completion on schedule.
• Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable‑stayed), box culvert, and interchange design for highway projects.
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, perform structural load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
• Mentor younger staff and support continued development.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
• PMP certification.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Micro Station, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Proficiency with seismic design and detailing of bridges.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 7 years related experience inclusive of a minimum of 2 years in project management.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng)).
• MS Office and MS Project experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
