Become a Key Player as a Procurement Specialist
As a Procurement Specialist, you will ensure material availability and cost efficiency to keep manufacturing and research operations running smoothly. You will manage the full procurement lifecycle and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Inventory, and Accounting to support production schedules and cost targets. This role contributes directly to uninterrupted manufacturing operations and supply chain performance.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact on the Team
- Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships and support new supplier development.
- Generate RFQs, negotiate pricing and terms, and execute purchase orders.
- Expedite materials to meet production schedules and manufacturing priorities.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, receiving, and inventory transactions in the ERP system.
- Support inventory accuracy, min/max levels, and material flow to the shop floor.
- Assist with demand planning, cost analysis, and make/buy evaluations.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, shortages, and delivery issues.
- Track procurement metrics and participate in continuous improvement and VA/VE initiatives.
Here’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred. - Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset.
Here’s What Else Might Help You Out
- Experience sourcing engineered components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of materials, fasteners, and manufacturing components.
- Experience with RFQs, Purchase Orders, and supplier negotiations.
- Familiarity with inventory management and kitting processes.
$65,000 - $85,000 annually
