Family Services Coordinator – Head Start Program

Employment/FLSA Status:
Full‑Time/Non‑Exempt

Position Summary

The Family Services Coordinator (FSC) oversees student enrollment and develops processes that ensure eligible families have equitable access to the Head Start program. The FSC is responsible for implementing and sustaining family engagement services in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards, with a focus on building trust and fostering meaningful relationships with families. This position leads community outreach efforts that support the successful recruitment and enrollment of eligible children.

Responsibilities
  • Develop positive family partnerships, identify and assess family needs, and apply a trauma‑informed approach to engagement.
  • Provide case management for an assigned caseload, connecting families with appropriate resources and supporting them in achieving educational, personal, social, health, and vocational goals.
  • Build collaborative, respectful partnerships with parents and caregivers, and work collaboratively and courteously with staff, children, families, and community partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Development, Family Services, or a related field; willingness to obtain Family Service Credentials is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with at‑risk children and families.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use software and data systems related to program implementation.
  • Strong attention to detail and a data‑driven approach to work.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, and commitment to the mission of Action Inc.’s Head Start program.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows‑based applications.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Must be bondable and insurable.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
