Position: RN/ LPN Days TRMCC
Work Unit Overview: A Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing and related services to residents, aligned with each resident's assessment and care plan. All care is delivered to meet the residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial needs, aiming to help them attain or maintain optimal functioning. The role includes supervising healthcare personnel to ensure a homelike environment, protecting resident rights, and promoting independence and control to the greatest extent possible.
Job Summary: The RN or LPN assesses patient health, develops and implements care plans, and maintains medical records. Responsibilities include administering nursing care, advising on health maintenance and disease prevention, and overseeing other healthcare staff as needed.
Supervise nursing assistants, aides, or other healthcare personnel to ensure standards and policies are met, possibly supervising a specific unit.Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests; monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.Record and report patient symptoms or changes, maintaining accurate medical documentation and vital signs.Educate patients and families on health topics, develop health improvement programs.Administer medications, start IV fluids, record vital signs, and transcribe physicians' orders.Monitor patient conditions, report adverse reactions, and provide basic care such as wound dressing and catheterization.Assist physicians with examinations and procedures, including orthopedic care and applying/removing casts.Respond to patient calls and assist as needed.Collect samples for laboratory testing and communicate with other healthcare facilities regarding patient needs.Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and assist during tests and treatments.Operate medical equipment, assist in maternal/child and medical-surgical settings, outpatient clinics, and outreach services.Comply with hospital policies, safety, infection control, and inventory regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program (preferably with a four-year degree for RN), 1-2 years of experience in an acute care setting, Montana RN or LPN license, and current CPR certification. Candidates must have a clean legal record regarding abuse or neglect, pass a background check, and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory, hospital procedures, medical terminology, patient rights, confidentiality, infection control, emergency care, and medication administration.
The role requires physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods, work under stress, and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
