Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Full‑time position offering full benefits and a convenient schedule at Sierra Medical Center, a 170‑bed acute care hospital in Northern Nevada.

• Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and consult with other specialists as required to ensure optimal patient care.
• Perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and conduct reassessments per policy, including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations.
• Assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain‑management techniques, and educate patients and families regarding pain management.
• Use triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care, accurately assigning triage categories.
• Determine priorities of care based on patients’ physical and psychosocial needs and factors influencing patient flow.
• Communicate with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic study results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

• 2 years ED experience required
• Current RN license in the state of practice
• Current BCLS certification
• ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire
• PALS certification within six (6) months of hire
• ENPC and TNCC certifications optional
