- Assists with preparing and serving meals, snacks, and beverages that are consistently appetizing.
- Assists with assuring that meals are consistently served with an attractive presentation.
- Assists with assuring that meals are served punctually.
- Assist with preparation of all meals according to The Springs Living menus and recipes, including for therapeutic or other special diets; specific duties included but are not limited to:
- Preparing foods for cooking
- Preparing salads
- Preparing desserts
- Working on the line during meal service.
- Assists with assuring that necessary snacks are available at the appropriate times.
- Stores food correctly, adhering to all related guidelines (i.e. labels, dates, and specifications).
- Performs all cleaning tasks according to cleaning schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
- Uphold The Springs Living Values Card
- Attends all education and training classes, including as necessary to fulfill company expectations.
- Maintains positive relationships with co‑workers, facility, residents, families and community, so that they serve as resources for one another.
- Adheres to community dress policy for culinary staff.
- Complete or hold current food handler’s permit.
- Complete Choking/Heimlich Maneuver training.
- Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday; frequently push, pull, bend, twist, and reach.
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/handle items.
- Must also be able to walk throughout campus on a frequent basis for extended periods of time (up to five hours).
- Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non‑strenuous and strenuous daily activities.
- May be exposed to biohazardous materials including, but not limited to, blood and body fluids, sharps exposure, animal dander and latex.
