We are looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract position based in Buxton, Maine. This role is well suited for someone who can maintain accurate records, manage routine accounting tasks, and keep financial information organized in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Quick Books and a strong understanding of payables, receivables, and account reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete and accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and organizing supporting documentation.
• Process vendor invoices and payments in a timely manner while monitoring outstanding obligations and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on overdue balances as needed.
• Reconcile bank activity regularly to ensure account balances align with internal records and investigate any variances.
• Update and manage accounting data within Quick Books to support reliable reporting and efficient financial workflows.
• Review financial entries for accuracy and consistency, making corrections when necessary to preserve data integrity.
• Assist with routine financial reporting by compiling account information and preparing summaries for review.
