The Opportunity

MSAD 6 invites applications for the position of Superintendent of Schools. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and visionary leader to guide our district, which serves the five unique communities of Buxton, Hollis, Limington, Standish, and Frye Island.

Our district operates seven elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school and an exciting and comprehensive adult education program.

The Leader We Are Looking For

After a period of stable and dedicated leadership, MSAD 6 is seeking a new Superintendent who will honor our traditions while guiding us into the future. We are looking for an experienced, visionary leader who will partner with our Board, educators, and community to deliver an exceptional education to our students.

  • A skilled fiscal manager with a proven ability to develop and manage a complex budget in a manner that is both responsible and student‑centered. (FY26 Budget: $70 million.)

Qualifications
  • Must hold or be eligible for a Maine Superintendent of Schools certificate (010).
  • A Master’s degree or higher in educational leadership or a related field.
  • Successful experience as a central office administrator; experience as a superintendent is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in instructional leadership, fiscal management, and community relations.
