NFI North is looking to fill an immediate opening for a Special Education Teacher at our Special Purpose Private School located in Buxton, Maine. This SPSS is part of a residential treatment program serving up to eight students for grades 7-12. Your role will include planning lessons, assessing student progress, teaching, supervising support staff who help in the classroom and participating in IEP meetings or reviews.

Our Environment focuses on the individual needs of each student. We have a low student/teacher ratio which helps assist students in steady growth academically. Our classroom BHP's and Clinical Staff specialize in the treatment and education of our students with a wide array of mental health diagnoses including mood disorders, complex trauma, attachment disorders. ASD and social and emotional supports.

Responsibilities include:

curriculum and lesson planning, ongoing assessments, progress reports and progress monitoring, teaching and supervision of education support staff and classroom management.

Qualified candidate must have a degree in Education and be a licensed teacher in Maine. You must also hold a Special Education certification (282) or be eligible to be conditionally certified (282) and have at least two years of experience working with children/adolescents.
