Construction Manager/ Foreman, Heavy Equipment Operator, Site Manager, Road Construction
We are hiring for an Asphalt Foreman at our Byram, MS plant to supervise paving crews to ensure road and parking lot projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. You must coordinate heavy machinery, manage material orders, and guarantee the finished surface meets quality standards and precise project specifications.
Core Responsibilities- Crew Management: Direct and mentor paving crews, schedule daily assignments, and track crew hours.
- Quality Control: Inspect subgrades, verify temperature and tonnage of asphalt, and ensure proper compaction and smoothness.
- Site Operations: Measure distances to locate boundaries, operate heavy machinery, and coordinate material deliveries and trucking sub-contractors.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA, MSHA, and EPA regulations, lead daily safety meetings, and complete accident/injury reports.
- Administration: Review timecards, prepare daily progress reports, and communicate project status with Project Managers.
- Leadership: Strong supervisory and communication skills with the ability to manage crews ranging from 6 to 10+ people.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of paving construction methods, materials, and heavy equipment operation.
- Working Conditions: Must be capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions, frequently lifting over 50 lbs, and willing to work nights or weekends when deadlines require it.
- Requirements: Valid driver's license (CDL is frequently a plus) and ability to pass drug screening.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have 5 years of experience in Asphalt industry.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a “Negative” result.
- Must be able to complete a post-offer physical with a “Capable” result.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Experience preferred.
