Requirements

• Education:
  
  Certified or registered Medical Assistant from an accredited institution required (RMA).
• Training and
  
  Experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years medical office experience preferred in a clinical setting. Lab, EKG and X-ray experience preferred.
• Job Knowledge:
  Understands the role of working as part of a medical care team, is aware of limitations as well as responsibilities, and is skilled at effectively communicating with patients or their delegates.

In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.

This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. The role also includes performing various diagnostic tests and providing patient education in the clinic. The individual will maintain equipment and act as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies, including hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMOs, and other physician’s offices, as well as with the patient.

They will support other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow.
