Part-Time Caregiver - with Autism, Cabot

I am looking for a dependable, patient, and compassionate caregiver for my 19-year-old son, , who has autism and is nonverbal. He is generally very easygoing and enjoys spending time relaxing with his iPad and TV. I am looking for someone who will provide a safe, comfortable environment for him while I am at work and assist him with his daily needs.

• School days: 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Saturdays: 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Hours may vary during school breaks, holidays, and summer, with advance notice whenever possible.

• Being home to receive Haidyn from the school bus
• Supervision and companionship
• Preparing snacks and simple meals
• Assistance with toileting/changing and personal hygiene as needed
• Helping maintain his normal routine
• Light cleanup related to his meals and care

Experience with autism, developmental disabilities, special education, caregiving, CNA/DSP work, or similar experience is strongly preferred, but I am also open to the right responsible person who is willing to learn. This could be a great fit for a college student studying special education, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, psychology, social work, or a related field. You must be comfortable providing personal care to a young adult, have reliable transportation, be dependable, and be comfortable with a small dog in the home.

This is a paid position located in Cabot, Arkansas.
