Customer Service Representative

B&P Manufacturing is a leading manufacturer of material handling equipment, including hand trucks, carts, ramps, and dollies. We are seeking a motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, and building long-term relationships while supporting sales growth.

The Customer Service Representative serves as a primary point of contact for customers, providing product information, pricing, quotations, order support, and sales assistance. This position works closely with the Business Development Representatives and VP of Business Development and collaborates with production, engineering, shipping, and other departments to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Provide professional, timely, and accurate support to customers via phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Answer customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, lead times, order status, shipping, and inventory availability.
• Enter and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Handle customer concerns and complaints, identify appropriate solutions, and ensure successful resolution.
• Track shipments using UPS, Fed Ex, and other carrier systems.
• Maintain customer records and documentation within company systems.

• Prepare quotations and follow up on opportunities in a timely manner.
• Develop new business opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting efforts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
• Support achievement of sales goals and departmental objectives.

• Learn and utilize the company’s Sage ERP system and other internal software tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and shipping teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Participate in cross-training to support team coverage during absences.
• Gain product knowledge through hands‑on exposure within the manufacturing facility.
• Continuously develop knowledge of company products and manufacturing capabilities.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing situations.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a customer‑first mindset.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

• Previous experience in customer service, inside sales, sales support, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Sage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or CAD drawings.
• Experience with CRM software (Salesforce) as well as Zendesk.

Negotiable and competitive compensation ranging from $17.00-$22.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience. B&P Manufacturing offers a full benefits package including: medical, optical, dental, paid vacation/holidays and 401K with matching. This position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, full time with a minimum of 40 hours per week, overtime may be required occasionally but the employee will be compensated accordingly.
