Dentist

The Dentist conducts dental examinations focused on evaluating conditions related to disability claims, following standardized protocols and documentation requirements. Daily tasks include reviewing medical and service histories, performing oral and dental assessments, documenting findings in electronic systems, and completing detailed exam reports that support disability determinations. The role does not involve ongoing treatment; instead, it emphasizes objective, evidence-based evaluations, clear communication, and adherence to guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

• Active, unrestricted Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) license.
• Strong clinical skills in general dentistry, including comprehensive oral examinations, diagnosis, and documentation of dental and oral health conditions.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications for charting, data entry, and secure information management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain findings clearly and interact respectfully with Veterans from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to ethical practice, impartial assessments, and maintaining confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills to complete exams and documentation within required time frames.
