A Day In The Life
Assess patient status on admission to the preop area, operating room, and post-op area, and on a continuing basis.
Provide safe, therapeutic quality care to patients byutilizingthe nursing process and nursing diagnosisin a timely manner.
Coordinate nursing interventions to enhanceachievementof expected outcomes and ensure readiness for discharge.
Document interventions and patient responses.
Ensure provision of patient care in an organized andtimelymanner.
Utilize nursing care standards when planning and implementing patient care.
Communicateappropriate informationregardingpatient conditions to surgeons, anesthesia, management, and other staff.
Safely carry out physician’sorders correctly and promptly, documenting all activities.
Initiate andparticipatein patient and family education.
Assess learning needs according to the patient’s level of understanding and readiness to learn.
Display an understanding of each patient’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturity in assessments, treatment, and care.
Maintain competencies to function in RN role within specific areas (e.g., OR circulator).
Maintain competencies in conscious sedation administration and monitoring of sedated patients.
Protect sedated and anesthetized patients byidentifyingsafety hazards and minimizing exposure tomaintainprivacy and body temperature.
Expertise insafety principles, asepsis, sterile technique, and universal precautions.
Assess,anticipate, and implementappropriate care throughout the surgical process.
Provides safe, quality patient care in the Peri-Operative area (Preop, Recovery, or OR). Accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.
Required:
Currently Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
ADN
Preferred:
Experience in the Per-operative Area
Additional InformationSchedule:
M-F Start times between 6:30-7AM and end times at 5:30 or later.
Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
