New Directions Social Care is currently recruiting Children's Residential Support Workers to work within residential services across Caerphilly.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people in a residential setting, helping them to feel safe, valued, and supported while promoting their emotional wellbeing and development.

The Role

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to children and young people, helping them develop life skills and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day care and support to children and young people in residential settings.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • Supporting with daily routines, education, and recreational activities.
  • Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and positive behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing reports as required.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.
  • Working effectively as part of a team to provide a safe and nurturing environment.
Requirements
  • You must have a minimum of 6 months experience.
  • A caring, compassionate, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts where required.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential - drivers only.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • The right to work in the UK.
