Maintenance Operative – AASC – Chester, Ellesmere & Wirral

Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary – £27,500 – £33,500 depending on experience & skills, plus Serco benefits

Full UK driving licence must be held. Vehicle and tools provided.

As the Maintenance Operative your role is key in ensuring all requested repairs, both reactive and proactive, are carried out to the required standard and within SLA deadlines.

This position covers Wigan and requires previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating, or related fields. You will be a highly motivated individual who can manage your own workflow and work within a team when necessary.

• Maintain health & safety throughout the property during and after works.

• Purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only.

• Keep company vehicles inspected and in a professional condition.

• Manage own workflow and collaborate with team as required.

• Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00.

• Out of hours on‑call duties on a rota basis to provide 24/7 emergency cover; scheduled once every 8–10 weeks.

Willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally across the UK. A valid UK driver’s licence is essential. All offers subject to security clearance checks and Home Office approval.
