Salary Range: $35.26 To $70.77 Hourly
Job SummaryThe Nurse Supervisor is an extension of the Nurse Manager and supports the delivery of overall nursing care to patients. The supervisor assists with the supervision and evaluation of all nursing and patient care personnel, contributes to Program development, and facilitates adherence to policies and processes.
AuthorityThe Nurse Supervisor shall have the authority to assume the responsilities of the inpatient department in the absence of the Nurse Manager. Shall have the authority to communicate with appropriate personnel regarding patient care and staff issues.
Functions and Duties- Provide on-site leadership for the behavioral inpatient units and Intake Clinicians during the evening shift and as needed
- Ensure safe staffing levels and appropriate patient assignments based on acuity in conjunction with the Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, and Behavioral Health Administrative Coordinator
- Serve as the primary on site escalation point for clinical and operational issues
- Support nursing staff with clinical decision-making and crisis intervention
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and patient safety standards
- Respond to emergencies, including behavioral crises and codes
- Communicate with leadership regarding incidents and operational concerns
- Assist with audits, rounding, and documentation oversight
- Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, well organized and function under stressful situations.
- Contribute to the training and evaluation of the nursing staff
- Facilitate the completion of payroll and nurse scheduling.
- Assists with maintaining staff's competencies files and assists in the planning and completion
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education
- Graduation from an NLN-accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure in State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse.
Experience
- One year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred. Previous leadership experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- CPI and Ukeru Certification (may be obtained during orientation)
- BLS Certification (may be obtained during orientation)

- Handles emergency or crisis situations.
- Physically and mentally perform the requirements of the crisis prevention model utilized in order to provide safe physical holding of patient and transport techniques and to provide.
This job operates within an inpatient and outpatient behavioral health environment in an acute care hospital setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, printers, copiers, and smartphones.
