Responsibilities- Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair on diesel trucks or equipment.
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
- Participate in manufacturer‑sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Supervise the work of any apprentice diesel technicians as assigned.
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Ensure that customers’ vehicles are kept clean. Notify the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keep shop area neat and clean for your safety and the safety of other diesel technicians.
- Maintain and be accountable for all dealership‑owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place in the same condition as they were received.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right‑to‑Know, etc.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
Safety shoes are required on day one of employment. Employees must wear approved safety footwear at all times while working in designated shop and service areas. Background screening is a mandatory prerequisite for employment consideration.

- Hard‑working diesel technicians willing to put in the time and effort to learn the diesel technician trade.
- Work with senior technicians to gain experience in multiple levels of diesel repairs.
- Online and instructor‑led training provided.
- High school diploma preferred or completion of vocational/technical school.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with 1 to 2 years of experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a CDL license.
- Must have base required tools or obtain them within 30 days.
- Major tooling provided in house.
