Qualifications:
Valid Service Certificate, with Ed.S Degree or higher in School Psychology.
Description of Duties:
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information, materials, and student records. Maintains student records, including special education reports and confidential reports, in a secure location.
Complies with system, state, and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.
Assesses individual student's needs using a variety of assessment methods, resulting in the reporting of both quantitative and qualitative data.
Selects, administers, and scores psychological tests under standard conditions in a timely manner so that compliance requirements are met.
Prepares psychological evaluations and eligibility reports to address initial and reevaluation requirements. Communicates results of these evaluations effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Provides consultation to parents, teachers, school personnel, and community agencies to enhance learning and adjustment of students (i.e., classroom observations, participation in RTI or 504 meetings, behavioral intervention, etc.)
Schedules and attends all meetings related to students (i.e., eligibility, evaluations, placement, manifestation, determinations, etc.)
Attends staff and professional/interagency meetings.
Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all job requirements; performs routine duties and responsibilities with little or no direct supervision.
Serves on the district crisis intervention team and responds to crisis situations to provide mental health support to students and staff.
Assists with the in-service training or school personnel as needed.
Coordinates/assists in the purchase of evaluation instruments, protocols, and related assessment software.
Completes all end-of-year reports as required by the state and system.
Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Special Education or other appropriate administrators.
