Position Purpose

This position performs and leads senior level hands-on HR duties supporting a warehouse/distribution and office facility located in Cairo, GA that operates 24/7 and employs 250+ associates in a variety of functions including outside sales, DOT regulated delivery drivers, warehouse, finance, food & non-food purchasing. The position reports to the operating company president and is part of the senior leadership team.

Some travel is required throughout the distribution geography. Work schedule may include non-traditional hours to accommodate all shifts and geography of distribution footprint. Additional detail regarding duties is noted below.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
  • Supervise associates to include, but not limited to staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
  • Assist managers in staffing all vacancies. Ensure all administrative items are completed according to established guidelines (i.e., I-9 forms, employment applications).
  • Assist in the training of management in application of policies and procedure. Assess training needs within the company and coordinate delivery of appropriate information (i.e., computer skills, management skills, etc.).
  • Function as an associate advocate by representing associates' issues to management as appropriate. Work with management team in resolving associate issues by investigating concerns and sharing resolution alternatives.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures to include effective communications to associates. Advise management of fair and consistent application of all approved policies and procedures.
  • Ensure benefits are explained to new associates and their enrollment is processed at appropriate time. Ensure all company benefits are communicated and administered in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Oversee procedures and processes to maintain our compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations. Work with Safety Committee and building maintenance team on compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
  • 4-6 years' experience in Human Resources management with supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated generalist expertise in employee relations, Associate engagement, performance management and talent acquisition
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • HRIS platform experience - UKG Pro, Hire Right, Applicant Tracking Systems, etc.
Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in HR management, business admin, org development or related field
  • 7+ years' experience in Human Resources with supervisory/management experience within food service industry.
  • Senior / Professional in Human Resources (S/PHR)
  • Advanced HRIS platform experience - UKG Pro, Hire Right, Applicant Tracking Systems, etc.
