- Interview and evaluate consumers and establish diagnoses
- Develop treatment plans collaboratively with consumers, defining goals, outcomes, and treatment time frames
- Monitor consumer behavior
- Provide counseling and clinical services to consumers experiencing problems related to substance use
- Intervene therapeutically to address mental health diagnoses and improve individual and family functioning
- Provide crisis intervention and referrals to support services
- Carry an assigned caseload
- Complete required monthly direct service hours
- Plan, develop, and facilitate consumer group programs
- Provide and arrange transportation services for consumers
- Teach life-management skills
- Work full-time, 40 hours per week, with an after-hours on-call rotation
- Report to the Assistant Director
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field required
- Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) preferred
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) eligible and must become certified within two years of employment
- Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses and interventions
- Knowledge of family systems theory, counseling theory, and stages of human development
- Knowledge of professional ethics, assessment tools and testing, case management processes, community resources and referral options
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, conflict resolution, drug and chemical dependencies, addiction processes, and substance use recovery theories
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Travel to other sites
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance
- Maintain First Aid & CPR certification
- At least 21 years of age
- Complete required registry clearances and criminal fingerprint background checks
- Participate in after-hours and day-call crisis rotation
- Maintain CADC licensure once eligible
Demonstrates expertise in developing and implementing treatment plans for consumers with mental health and substance use issues, while providing crisis intervention and counseling services. Proficient in case management, community resource navigation, and facilitating group programs.
