Job Summary
A part-time Accountant opportunity is available with a government agency in Calabasas, CA. This temp-to-hire role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger, financial reporting, payroll, and grant accounting experience who is looking for a stable, mission-driven work environment.
The Accountant will support the accounting team with key financial operations, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, year-end account review, financial statement preparation, payroll, grant spending oversight, and audit support. This is a great opportunity to contribute to public sector financial accountability while working with a collaborative team that values accuracy, compliance, professionalism, and service to the community.
This role offers a consistent part-time schedule and the opportunity to support meaningful government accounting work in a structured and team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Perform year-end account reviews and assist with financial close processes.
- Prepare financial statements and support accurate financial reporting.
- Process payroll and assist with related accounting functions.
- Monitor grant spending to help ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Assist outside auditors by preparing schedules, documentation, and account support.
- Pay range: $36.00 to $45.00 per hour.
